What activities happen at St Mary Magdalene's Church

Church Next Door - meet in the Community Centre every Sunday at 10am, except on the second Sunday in the month, when we meet in Church. There is for accompanied children under the age of 6, and one is for the older ones. The readings, activities and prayers follow the same theme as the Service in Church, and then the children, parents and leaders join the congregation in Church at the Sharing of the Peace.

Worship for Everyone - is held on the second Sunday each month in Church at 10am - an informal Service of Family Worship, which usually lasts for about 45 minutes.

Service of Commemoration and Thanksgiving - a Service held at 6pm on the first Sunday of each month, when we remember and gives thanks for the lives of those who have died during the previous month, and for those whose first anniversary falls at this time.

Pram Service - meets fortnightly on Wednesday afternoons during school term time, 2pm to 3pm in the Community Centre and is especially for you to come along with the little ones - from birth to school age. A short service with singing, a story and prayer and a time for play and fellowship.

The Mothers' Union meet on the third Thursday of each month at 2.30pm at the Community Centre. There is usually a speaker at each meeting, then time for a cup of tea and a talk. In July there is an outing and coffee mornings are held in Church on at least two Saturdays during the year. Corporate Communion is held on the last Tuesday each month in Church at 10am.

Stewards - Church is generally open each weekday from 10am to 12 noon and 2pm to 4pm and on Saturday from 10am to 12 noon. Anyone is welcome to come in - light a candle in the Lady Chapel if you wish, talk to the stewards, have a quiet time or just look around.

Healing Ministry - in the Lady Chapel during and after communion at the 10am Family Eucharist and the 6pm sung Eucharist on the second Sunday of each month. Any situation, no matter how big or small, can be offered to God for his blessing; and any part of your life that does not seem to be right can be prayed over for God's healing touch.

Bellringers - The bells are rung for the 10am and 6pm Services on Sundays and there is a practice evening each Friday from 7.30pm. Handbells are usually played at Christmastime. Click on to our 'More Information' link to read more about the bells and the Church clock.

Church Office is open each Thursday evening from 6.30pm to 7.30pm in Church, for enquiries regarding weddings and baptisms. Just call in, no appointment is necessary.

Summer Garden Party and Christmas Bazaar - These events are held each year when members of the various Groups have stalls and provide refreshments.
